About the Evening
Join us at The Bookmonger for a special whisky-tasting experience and conversation with Natalie Jayne Clark, author of the darkly funny and bestselling crime-lite novel The Malt Whisky Murders.
Natalie will guide guests through a tasting tour across three iconic whisky regions of Scotland, while sharing her whirlwind journey to publication, including landing both a pre-emptive book deal and a literary agent within a week of pitching at the Bloody Scotland crime writing festival.
This relaxed, flavour-filled event combines stories, spirits, and conversation in The Bookmonger’s warm and intimate setting.
About the Author
Natalie Jayne Clark is a neurodivergent author, poet, and producer based in Perth, Scotland. Her debut novel, The Malt Whisky Murders, became the fourth bestselling title at the 2025 Edinburgh International Book Festival, was shortlisted for the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize, and was selected as one of Waterstones Scottish Paperbacks of the Year.
She also co-hosts a monthly poetry and prose open mic at the vibrant Osteria Bau Bau arts venue in Perth.
About the Book
The Malt Whisky Murders is a darkly funny, atmospheric crime-lite mystery set against the rugged backdrop of Scotland’s whisky country. Blending humour, suspense, and a lovingly detailed sense of place, Natalie crafts a story full of eccentric locals, distillery secrets, and twisty motivations, perfect for fans of warm, character-led mysteries with a Scottish spirit.
