Lin will discuss her latest release, The Dead and The Dying, share insights into her writing process and research, and talk crime fiction, character building, and what it takes to keep a long-running series fresh and compelling.
The conversation will be led by Bookmonger owner Caitlyn Payne, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
About the Author
Lin Anderson is a Scottish novelist and screenwriter best known for her bestselling series featuring forensic scientist Dr Rhona MacLeod. This year she published the nineteenth installment, The Dead and The Dying.
She is the co-founder of Bloody Scotland, the international crime writing festival held annually in Stirling, and the founder of Pitch Perfect, a platform that has helped launch more than 25 books in its 14 years. Lin also judges The Sunday Post Short Story Competition alongside Alex Gray and Alexander McCall Smith, as well as the Claymore Award at the Killer Nashville Writers’ Conference in the USA.
About the Book
The Dead and The Dying delivers one of Dr Rhona MacLeod’s most atmospheric and unsettling cases yet. When a skeleton is uncovered during a volunteer rescue effort on Orkney’s wild and windswept Skaill Bay, it appears at first to be an ancient Viking-era discovery. But Rhona’s forensic expertise reveals something far more recent, and far more disturbing.
As she unravels the truth, Rhona is drawn into a web of buried secrets, modern danger, and a community still shaped by its past. With its vivid sense of place, tightly woven suspense, and Lin Anderson’s trademark forensic detail, The Dead and The Dying is an addictive new chapter in one of Scotland’s most beloved crime series.
