About the Book
In the wake of a devastating storm, Cora and her nine-year-old daughter Maia set off to register the birth of Cora’s newborn son. Her husband Gordon expects the baby to bear his name, but Cora hesitates because what you call a child might shape who they become. Spanning 35 years, The Names follows three parallel versions of one life, depending on whether the boy is named Bear (suggested by his sister), Julian (his mother’s preference) or Gordon (his father’s tradition). Each version unravels differently, exploring legacy, identity, love, and the ripples of one decision.

Refund Policy (Event Cancellation)
In the event of cancellation, refunds will be issued for the admission portion only. The retail value of the book will be deducted, and the book will still be yours to keep. No refunds can be provided if a guest cancels prior to the event, but with enough notice we’ll do our best to resell your space.
