The Bookmonger Society August 27th: Night Two
August Bookmonger Society Pick: It Could Have Been Her by Lisa Jewell
A missing woman. A house full of secrets. A page-turner you won't be able to put down.
Event Description
Our beloved employee Cait is leaving us in mid-August, and it felt only right to send her off in style. As one of her all-time favourite authors, Lisa Jewell was the obvious choice, and with It Could Have Been Her landing as an instant bestseller, the timing couldn't be more perfect.
Fast-paced, twisty, and impossible to put down, this is exactly the kind of book that makes for a brilliant evening of conversation, if you can stop talking about the twists long enough to discuss them!
Join us for one of two evenings of great discussion, wine, charcuterie, and community as we unravel one of the most talked-about thrillers of the year.
🗓️ Wednesday, 26 August | 7:30 p.m.
🗓️ Thursday, 27 August | 7:30 p.m.
About the Book
Jane Trevally is walking her dogs when a small white terrier appears, alone, with no sign of the teenage girl he had been staying with. When the girl is reported missing, Jane offers to return the dog to his registered owner in London, arriving at a run-down house in the deepest backwaters of Hampstead that she immediately recognises. Because Jane has a dark history with this house, and the man who answers the door claims to know nothing.
Conjuring memories from twenty-five years ago, Jane is certain this house holds the key, to the missing teenager, to her own traumatic past, and to secrets that refuse to stay buried.
